Hi everybody, if there is any vets out there i was wondering if i could have your advice. My dog, a 16 year old Yorkshire terrier has always had problems with his ears, he has had numerous operations in the past to remove "growths" from his ears. He also has dizzy spells, not every day, maybe once or twice a month, he goes dizzy and his back legs go (this has always happened to him from being young) we put him outside and after about 10 minutes he comes round. He has permanent infection in his right ear, he's on steroids and antibiotic drops from the vet and we also clean his ear out twice a day with white vinegar and salt (as reccomended by the vet). We've never had a clear answer from the vet as to what is actually causing it all. His right ear is getting considerably worse, he has these growths growing, he has no earhole, he is deaf and his ear is constantly full of this gunky black & yellow puss. We're taking him to the vets again next week as we are running low on steroids and to ask them if there is anything else they can do for him, apart from his ears he is a healthy and happy dog, he still runs around like a two year old! His ears do annoy him though, especially when they are really bad, he rubs his right ear along the carpet and sometimes makes it bleed. We're hoping the vets will operate again as this has really helped his left ear, he hardly has any problems with it now, but obviously at 16 he might not pull through surgery. We don't really want to put him down, we would only do that if we thought he was suffering and there was nothing we can do, but apart from his ear he is healthy and happy, could i have some advice please?
Thanks!
