We have a 1930s Terrace house and the front door leads straight into the front room (there used to be a hallway apparently but this was knocked into one by previous owners)
In the bay window at the bottom there is like a vent grid thing which blows extremely cold air into the front room. There are holes in the brick on the other side outside if you get my meaning.
Noticing it more now winter is here, we already put some masking tape over it but it isnt working. Can we block it up with something?
Obviously if it is illegal or unsafe we wouldnt do it but is it really necessary? Already replaced the laminate floor with a carpet to try and help but its so cold.
In my parents house this holey brick thing is in the kitchen wall inside the cupbourd under the sink and this makes more sense as you cant tell.
Any advise please??
Thanks for all the answer so far.
Bit more info probs should of said it earlier. We have radiators, no fire and the combi boiler is in the bathroom where there is also a hole thing in the top corner near the ceiling (which doesnt seem to have a draft strangely)
Want to be warm but the answers are conflicting lol
