Our oldest cat has been peeing and pooping in our bedroom and the spare room for about 6 months now. I know this is because of some upset. We had a strange cat coming into the house so had a microchip cat flap fitted about 3 months ago. We also had work done to the house which stopped last week but will start again after xmas. We clean the carpet with the special cleaning fluid, we have even shampooed but the carpet is really really smelly now. We have cleaned the litter tray, moved it to the area she is going in but she actually pooped BESIDE the tray. We have used a felaway plug in which seems to have stopped her for a period in the room it was plugged into but she still went in our room. She gets lots of attention, is fit and healthily, gets outside and has been spotted going outside. Last night we locked her out of the bedrooms but today she pooped in bathroom this afternoon then peed in it tonight. Our other two are fine and she has no problems with them. My partner and I are at the end of our tether. I am 2 months pregnant and this CAN'T go on. She is a house cat so I do not want to force her to live in the garage and moving her to my parents seems like a last resort.... Has anyone else experienced this long term problem and how did you fix it?
