Hello, I hope someone can help. I moved in to my current home a year ago and the carpet in the bedroom is in a terrible state, not caused by us, its very old, worn, matted, dirty, with stains and other stuff stuck in it, its also badly fitted. I have tried cleaning it, but to no avail. We have already replaced very nasty carpet in the bathroom with lino, but can't really afford to do the same with the bedroom (I'm a student), and on principle don't want to be adding value to a property the landlord doesn't seem bothered in maintaining. Now could someone let me know whether the landlord has to replace this? Is there anything I can do other than move??!?? Thanks for your time.
Silly me, I should've expected the obvious replies really, but so you know I had to find somewhere quick sharp as I was moving to go to university, it was all very rushed. This type of thing does happen. I was just hoping someone would be able to give me some helpful advice on this.
