I have this assignment that says the following:
In order to remodel an office, a carpenter needs to purchase carpeting, at $8.45 a square yard, and molding for the base of the walls, at $0.87 a foot.
If the room is 9 ft by 12 ft, with a 3-ft-wide doorway, what will the material cost?
Well, I do not understand the following parts:
1) is it the carpet to put on the floor? yes or not? if not, what is it then?
2) what is the molding for the base of the walls? As it says wallS (plural), I can understand that it is not only what is around a door... if it is around the door, what do I do to know the height of the door as they only provided the wide? if it's nothing to do with around the door, what is the molding for the base of the wall then?
If no one can explain me those words, can u just help me to find the answer to this equation then?
