2 weeks ago i stupidly tried to catch a falling glass which shattered in my hand. It cut my thumb to the bone, severed most of the nerves in my hand and i had to have plastic surgery to fix it. what i want to know is... I did it upstairs and it bled a huge amount. I ran from my bedroom onto the hall and into the bathroom to grab a towel to try and stop the bleeding before i spent a night at hospital. I have tried to clean the blood off the carpets butthey are ruined totally. There are loads of blood patches dotted around the whole room and the top of the stairs. If i claim thorugh my home insurance as it was an accident will i just be paying more in the long run when my policy goes up? It will cost a lot to replace my carpets myself so will it work cheaper going through the insurance?
