I intend to lay vinyl on a floor that currently has carpet on it. Obviously I will take the carpet up first but was wondering if I can leave the old carpet underlay down and put the vinyl over that? If not can I lay the vinyl straight onto the floorboards or will it need some other kind of underlay? Any suggestions would be appreciated as I have to get this done on the weekend!
Thanks for all the answers so far! Just to clarify this is not for a bathroom, just for a long straight room, so no awkward fittings. Also it does not need to look perfect as it is only a temporary measure whilst my new dog is a puppy! Keep them coming please!
