Can I cancel contents insurance claim?

Carpet Floors - the soft and comfortable side of living.

My pipes burst and damaged the contents inside the bedroom/study that i was using as a storage for my clothes, boxes of book, stereo and old built in cooker that we took out. Water went all the way to the other rooms, damaging the carpets too.
It's been nearly a week from tomorrow and the assessor so busy that we are not going to be seen until Thursday. Speaking to the insurance company that they won't even consider my laminated floors as contents so they won't change that or assessors are by trade carpet cleaners and crime scene cleaners so my carpets are more likely going to get clean despite of the odour and water drenched (which the insurance more or less suggested) and they may not ever see water damage clothes, bags as worth claiming.I don't have a receipt for my designer bags as i've lost them so they are going to ignore that.
I can't live another day in this mess plus i can't afford my new premium. I would rather do lose what i have that i can live without, rather than paying so much after wards. But since I've started the process can i withdraw?

Just to add i am a UK tenant insurance holder.
