Me and my boyfriend moved into a flat august 8th, and are desperate to leave early. We have 3 months left, but I can't stand to live here anymore! Our landlord wont sort anything, our problems are: no heat in lounge - radiator is broken.
Severe damp patches in lounge (were there when we moved in with promise that it would be sorted) paint has completely peeled away to show plaster now.
We have an original heavy slate mantlepiece and the inventory said it was cracked but secured on, it was not secured on, and fell off, it is in pieces on the floor as it was full of cracks.
Our bedroom leads onto a courtyard and has a door with a huge gap underneath, when it rains water seeps under drenching the carpet and I'm freezing at night because of it.
We have to light fittings that aren't secure so there are exposed wires
We were told when we moved in and in the inventory that there was a working tv ariel in the bedroom, this was broken when we moved in and they were told 3 weeks after, still not sorted and a guy who came to look at it has left wires exposed
Bathroom has been painted with normal paint so it is flaking off
We have an entry door right infront of our flat door and other tenants are constantly leaving it open causing drafts and has resulted in 2 break in Attempts while I've been on my own in the flat, we asked for an automatic closer to be put on the door but that hasn't been sorted. I think that is everything LOL so will I have a leg to stand on if I take things further? If we leave we'll be liable to pay rent up til march! Thanks Hannah
