A couple of months ago we had a new flatmate - and i turned out to be the worst decision of our lives. He bought a second hand mattress, was the most unhygeinic person you will ever meet, didn't work and to top it all off eventually robbed money from me and moved out without paying his rent. We got over it all and were glad to see the back of him until we realised he had left behind a problem.. We were getting bitten by something especially my flatmates room which was next to my ex-flatmates seemed to be the worst. We initially beleived we had fleas and freaked out as I consider myself to be a very clean person and have an erratic fear of all things creepy crawly. So we binned everything, cushions, teddy's, pillows, bed clothes, throws, rugs and mattresses and replaced the lot costing us a small fortune and bought every item of anti flea powder and spray available, hired an industrial carpet cleaner and washed every item of clothing in the whole house - to no avail. Several weeks later we are still getting bitten and lastnight my flatmate woke to find a huge bed bug in his bed!! Turns out we don;t have fleas at all but bed bugs. Im so exhausted of cleaning and spending money on products that don't seem to work. We have been left very short of money from all this and I doubt we coudl afford a pest control company to come in, to top it all off im reading we shoud bin our mattresses and bed frames which we have only just bought! Im at a loss of what to do... any advice appreciated please and no cruel commetns.. Im feeling creeped out enough as it is :(
