We have a pet house Rabbit, she is 4 years old, we love her to bits, she used to have the run of the house, but know she is kept in a small area in our kitchen, due to the fact that a year ago she started having runny poos and leaving them all over the carpets, we have had her to the vets, cleaned her, changed her diet to try and find out what is causing it etc. to no success, we had a baby boy which was another reason we had to restrict her movements, so he had no chance of stumbling on her waste. I feel sorry for the rabbit after having so much freedom to now being stuck in an area of our kitchen, its bigger than the space she would get in a hutch but I find it unhygenic also.
There is nowhere else we can put her, we can't bear to think of her been outside (probably would kill her now anyway after living indoors all her life), I would not want to give her up to the RSPCA as if they don't find a home for her they usually put animals down, I would like somewhere where she will be able to run around and enjoy her life, maybe with other rabbits and we would be happy to contribute towards her food etc., does anyone know of such a place that takes in rabbits, she is such a friendly, cuddly little animal ?
We don't really want to give her up and probably won't go through with it but it would be interesting to know
