Am i missing something from my Leopard Gecko's vivarium? Am i taking proper care of him?

Carpet Floors - the soft and comfortable side of living.

I was watching a few Leopard Gecko videos and i'm convinced there are some things i am missing and possibly that i am not treating him properly. I have had him since August and he has been fine and well.

In his vivarium i have 1 small hide, 1 basking stone, 3 ornaments, an old cricket box with moss inside and 2 bowls. His substrate is repti-carpet (except from a certain patch behind his hide where there is just the glass.

Usually i would keep his light and basking stone on in the day (8am - 10pm) and turn them both off at night (10pm - 8am) but recently i have started keeping just his light on in the day then turning his basking stone on at night.

I clean the vivarium and moss out every week. I only started putting moss in about half a month ago. It dries out very quickly and i'm not sure it should but i asked on here and apparently it should still be changed every week anyway.

I give him fresh water every day. I used to feed him crickets until i tried him with mealworms, the he ate mealworms and crickets until about mid-September where they had run out of mealworms so i fed him Morioworms instead. He didn't eat through the whole of October and then i replaced the crickets with mealworms. It was only until a few days ago i stopped feeding him morioworms and now i'm just feeding him mealworms. Up until earlier today i was feeding him dried flies, but they were just soiling his tank and bowls and i don't really think he ate them, so now i use that bowl for mealworms instead.

The other day my sister got a tortoise and with it she got a some special stuff that you put in reptile's water and i've never heard of such a thing up until now. I use that in his water now. She also got this calcium powder stuff that you supposedly shake onto live food and veg. WHAT IS THAT? Should i be using that? It confuses me...

I mean, he's been fine. He looks ok. I thought he had mites once but the symptoms have cleared up. Should i also be worried that there are fleas living in his vivarium? My cat always sleeps ontop of the mesh and flea eggs fall in. I just can't seem to get rid of them!
