my landlord is trying to take the p*** im moving out soon
at the beginning of tenancy there was no inventory or anything that said what had to be done at the end of the tenancy i never signed any inventory as he not have one. i only signed the lease contract which did not include inventory or tenant checklist.
the property came unfurnished and in a very old fashioned condition, and when i moved in i experienced various problems with fridge being bust, washing machine, gas boiler leaks, the carpets were very old and everything really dated
he has now made up this checklist of things to be done some absolutely ridiculous!!! he is obviously trying to fleece me and steal my deposit, as he has put prices adding up to £1000
surely he cannot get away with this, no matter if i clean the house from top to bottom i know he will lie and say it wasnt in a satisfactory state and keep the money for himself and not get any work done on the property as he is very sneaky
what can i do?!
