ok, ill try and put as much information here as possible.
i have a 3 year old femal bichon frise. she has not yet been spayed and is due to get this done at the end of the month.
we got her 5 months ago from a family who had 6 children. when we got her her previous owner told me she used puppy pads still for when it rained as kacy (my dog) doesnt like the rain and to use these if she wont go outside. i was dubious about this as no 3year old dog should still be n puppy pads.
anyways we used them and after a couple of months i decided that i didnt want to do this and to fully house train her. i have read on a few occasions that bichon frises are one of the hardest breeds to house train.
after a few rocky weeks she was fully housetrained. i had some problems at work and i ended up working some long days for a week or two and she was left alone for upto 8hours a day (this was not ideal i know)
however she still had no problems and did not go in the house.
only recently has she started weeing and pooing i the house. i dont know whats up. i am takingnher out as soon as i wake up at 6am everymorning and other times on a timed basis so she would get into the habit of knowing when she will be took out next and so to keep it in.
yet she still is pooing and weeing in the house. my partner has also got a better job and at times she is only left alone for 4-5 hours at a time and he is working split shifts so pops home to see her during the day but she is still doing this.
as soon as i walk in she knows she has been naughty and i dont shout or hit her. i just say "naughty kacy. no!" in a stern voice and she is wetting herself as if she is scared.
i just dont know what tp do. i praise her and give her treats when she goes outside etc
any advice would be appreciated as i cant clean these carpets anyore, haha
everyone seems to say crate train her but i feel awful for this. when we are out she has access to the sitting room, our bedroom and her own room. and when its night time she sleeps in the same bed as me and the thought of keeping her in a crate for upto 8hours scares the life out of me?!
what size crate would you recommend etc
